Privacy notice

Version 2026-09-14

Who is responsible

Tenyr Software Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control. Ben Lee is Tenyr’s designated Privacy Officer. Privacy requests and concerns can be sent to support@tenyr.ca. A landlord using Tenyr is separately responsible for the information they collect, the rules they configure and the rental decisions made using Tenyr.

What we collect

Depending on how Tenyr is used, records may include account and contact information; rental and listing facts; prospect and tenant contact details; conversation transcripts; self-reported income, employment, occupants, pets, move-in timing and references; viewing and tenancy dates; documents; maintenance descriptions; payment-log entries; notification receipts; device information; and security/abuse records.

Why we collect it

We use information to operate and secure the requested rental workflow, preserve landlord and prospect records, provide support, prevent abuse, process Tenyr subscriptions, and meet legal obligations. We do not authorize landlords to collect information unrelated to a tenancy.

AI processing and automatic screening

Messages in the public inquiry assistant and limited property context are sent to Anthropic to generate replies and structured proposals. If a landlord enables automatic screening, Tenyr may use an explicitly confirmed answer to close an inquiry under a limited structured property rule. The saved record includes the applied rule and exact prospect evidence; the landlord can review and reopen it. Income, household composition, protected characteristics, accommodation or assistance-animal issues, and free-text criteria do not trigger automatic closure. Do not enter government identification numbers, banking information, health information or sensitive documents in chat.

Service providers and location

Tenyr uses Supabase for authentication, database and storage; Anthropic for AI; Vercel for hosting; Resend for email; and Stripe for Tenyr subscription billing. Optional features may use Meta, Google Places, Telnyx or Twilio, and Web Push providers. Information may be processed outside Canada, including in the United States, and may be subject to the laws of those places.

Facebook Marketplace extension

The optional Chrome extension runs only on supported Facebook Marketplace and Messenger pages. It checks the open conversation's Marketplace listing URL against the rental URLs the landlord explicitly saved in Tenyr. Only after an exact match does it send the latest renter message and limited listing context to Tenyr for an automated reply. It does not send unrelated Marketplace or personal conversation contents to Tenyr, and it does not send the landlord's Facebook password or authentication cookies. The extension stores a revocable Tenyr API key and its tracked-rental configuration in the landlord's Chrome profile. The use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention

Information is retained while needed for the service and for legitimate legal, security, dispute and business purposes. Information used to make a decision directly affecting an individual may need to be retained for at least one year. When continued identification is no longer reasonably necessary, records should be deleted or de-identified. Tenyr does not promise that deleting one screen immediately erases every backup or legally retained record.

Access, correction and deletion

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email the privacy contact with enough detail to identify the record. We will verify identity, protect other people’s information and respond under applicable law. Prospects and tenants should identify the rental and landlord involved; they may also contact that landlord directly.

Security and concerns

Tenyr uses account isolation, private document storage, scoped public links and access controls, but no system is risk-free. Do not upload information Tenyr does not need. Report suspected unauthorized access or a privacy concern immediately to support@tenyr.ca.
